A Day Trip to Peterborough

Fen Bridges is a new programme developed by artists Alan Seiglow & Karen Avilez. Fen Bridges will help support community members to access creative and cultural places in the East of England, whether that be on your doorstep in Fenland or just across the border in Cambridgeshire & Norfolk. 

As part of the pilot we would like to invite you on a day trip to Peterborough Museum & Gallery to see the exhibition of artist Tony Nero and meet the artist for a talk on Friday 28th November.   

When: Friday 28th November, meeting at 9:15 am.

Where: meeting point at Platform 1, March Railway Station, Station Road, PE15 8SJ.

Time:  9:15 am, returning at 4:36 pm

We’ll use the morning to explore the museum, take time to draw, sketch, paint and write with supported activities. We’ll have our lunch and then take a short trip to Queensgate Shopping Centre to visit a pop up arts space, Dream Space Reading Room by Metal Culture before departing Peterborough. 

We’ll supply you with a sketch pad & a note pad for you to draw or write. We’ll have sketching materials available. 

As part of the visit we will also pay for your travel up to a day return train or bus ticket from your town of departure - March, Wisbech, Whittelsey, Manea etc. 

Alan & Karen will be departing from March Station on Platform 1, March Railway Station, Station Road, PE15 8SJ. Please meet us at 09:15am. We will be departing Peterborough around 4pm and hope to be back in March for 4:36pm. If you are travelling from another location please make Alan & Karen aware when you book by dropping us an email: creativefenlandinfo@gmail.com 

PLEASE NOTE: 

• The activity is free and we will pay for your train ticket  

• You must bring your own pack lunch, snacks, & water. Charged phone.  

• Food is available for purchase at the Museum’s cafe or at Queensgate Shopping Centre. 

• We advise wearing comfortable footwear and warm clothing/layers. 

• Please be aware of low paced walking involved.
